Almost every Solana meme coin that launched this year followed the same three steps: create, inflate, extract.
Researchers analyzed over 7 million tokens launched on Pump.fun between January 2024 and March 2025. Of those, 98.6% showed patterns consistent with fraud. Fewer than 100,000 maintained liquidity above $1,000. And the schemes are getting more refined, not less. The number of rug pulls actually fell in 2025, while the losses per incident climbed as operators traded clumsy cash grabs for polished branding and constructed narratives. The rug pull isn't an accident anymore. It's a business model.
CrabStar has not yet launched. Here's why.
Most people understand a rug pull in rough terms: a project launches, the crowd piles in, and the team disappears with the money. The specific mechanics that make it possible are worth knowing.
Three on-chain conditions enable a rug pull every time.
Mint authority not revoked. If the team can still mint new tokens after launch, they can inflate supply at will. A legitimate project revokes mint authority, sets it permanently to null, before or at launch. If that hasn't happened, the door is open.
Liquidity not locked. When a token launches, the team provides liquidity paired against another asset so trading is possible. If that liquidity isn't locked or burned, the team can pull it at any time. Trading stops. Price collapses. They walk away.
Supply concentration not audited. Hidden wallet clustering, team holdings of 20 to 40% of total supply with no vesting schedule, proxy contracts that obscure who controls what. A smart contract audit checks for all of this. Without one, buyers are trusting a claim, not a verified fact.
Two of these you can verify yourself the moment a token launches. Whether mint authority is revoked and whether liquidity is locked both show up on any block explorer. The third, how supply is actually distributed and whether the contract hides anything in the code, is what an independent audit exists to catch and put in writing. On-chain checks plus a published audit are how you confirm the door is closed instead of taking the team's word for it.
CrabStar's smart contract is not yet deployed. The audit is not complete. We won't launch until both are done.
The co-founders of CrabStar, Andrew and Thomas, are former commercial crab fishermen from the Hecate Strait. We know what it costs when something goes wrong in a system people trust with their livelihoods. We're not building a project that asks for trust without giving people a way to verify it.
We're currently testing the multi-sig wallet structure before any real funds are involved. LP lock runs through Streamflow and triggers the moment liquidity goes live, locked immediately at launch, not promised for later. Every step is done in sequence because the sequence is the point. Nothing trades publicly until the on-chain facts are set, and the audit is published: mint authority revoked, liquidity locked, supply distribution confirmed by a third party. When those conditions are met, we launch.
The crypto space has a trust problem. Most projects know this and ignore it anyway because the window to extract value closes fast. Move fast, manufacture urgency, launch before anyone can check the details.
We think that's the wrong way to build something that's supposed to matter.
CrabStar is built on a simple premise: people over profit. Trust is rare in this space precisely because so few projects treat it as worth protecting. Our goal isn't just to launch a coin. We want to raise the standard of what a meme coin launch looks like. One where the on-chain facts are verifiable before you spend a dollar. One where the team's incentives are publicly locked. One where the conservation mission tied to every transaction is real and traceable, not a marketing line.
If you want to understand the full philosophy behind why we built this as a purpose coin, we wrote about that here.
A lot of crypto projects post update threads, roadmap graphics, milestone tweets, and community calls. Some of them rug pull anyway. Posting content is not transparency.
Transparency is a launch condition. We don't go until the audit is done, the liquidity is locked, and the on-chain facts are verifiable by anyone with a block explorer. That's the bar we set for ourselves, and the bar we'd want any project to meet before asking for your money. That's what this blog is for. A record of what we're building, what we're waiting on, and why. When CrabStar launches, anyone who wants to understand what happened before the token existed can read it here.
The whitepaper is live. The game is live. The story is on the site. None of that requires a token to be real, and all of it tells you who we are before you decide whether to trust us. When the audit is complete, we'll publish the report. When the LP is locked, we'll post the proof. When the contract is deployed, the address will be here.
Read the whitepaper. Play the game. Watch the wallet.
NOVEMBER 1, 2026
That is launch day. $CRAB goes live on Solana.
We are working flat out to get there. The audit, the multi-sig, the liquidity lock: all of it is on the roadmap above, and the receipts go public as each piece lands.
One honest note, because it belongs on every page like this: this market is high risk and nothing here is financial advice. Do your own research.
Then, if CrabStar holds up to your standards, be there on day one with us.
